Missing Persons

Moxxy’s Missing Persons Task Force stands with families during one of the most painful and uncertain times of their lives. When a loved one is missing, our team provides compassionate, in-depth research to help families organize critical information, support the reporting process with law enforcement, raise public awareness, and access additional resources. Our work is meant to complement official efforts and ensure families feel supported, heard, and empowered every step of the way.

Missing Person: Arthur Deering

Moxxy Forensic Investigations is honored to assist the family of Arthur Deering, who has been missing since June 1998. A Vietnam veteran, Arthur was living in Kingston, New York, when his chronic PTSD became unmanageable. He was hospitalized from May to mid-June 1998, during which time he was evicted from his apartment. On Friday, June 12, Arthur was discharged and called his sister to let her know an acquaintance named Bill was picking him up and letting him stay at Bill’s house in Beacon, NY. Arthur promised that he would call again in a few days. When the family did not hear from him, they contacted Bill, who claimed he took Arthur to the Beacon Metro-North Railroad station on Saturday, June 20, 1998, so that Arthur could return to the VA hospital in Montrose, NY, about 20 miles south.

Arthur kept in regular contact with his family via phone, so when they did not hear from him after June 12, 1998, they became concerned. They began to try to piece together Arthur’s movements after his hospital discharge. The hospital had no record of Arthur being readmitted after June 12, and his bank records indicated a $500 withdrawal on June 12 as the last activity. Although Arthur owned a car, Bill, the acquaintance, said that Arthur had given him permission to drive it while Arthur was away at the VA hospital. Police recovered the car from Bill’s driveway in early July 1998 and processed it for any evidence of foul play, but nothing was found.

A recent public record search yielded a potential last known residence, from 1998 until July 13, 2001, in Rifton, NY, about 30 miles north of Beacon.

At the time he went missing, Arthur was 46 years old, approximately 6’ tall and 200 pounds, and had blue eyes and gray/graying hair. He had a heart tattoo on his upper right arm and a large scar on his left leg; Arthur walked with a limp. He was also known to wear rosary beads around his neck and t-shirts with the Harley-Davidson logo or a POW emblem. He would now be 74 years old.

Case Summary-01.png

Missing Person:  Alice Kelly Morvillo

Patricia Alyce Kelly, known as Alice, was born on August 4, 1912, in Yonkers, New York. Alice was described as a White/Caucasian woman with red/auburn hair, blue/hazel eyes, approximately 5’5” in height, and possibly freckles on her hands and arms.

Alice was married to Jack “John” Francis Morvillo, with whom she had four children. Although formal marriage documentation has not been located, multiple historical sources—including census records, newspaper articles, and family testimony—support that the marriage occurred.

The last confirmed record of Alice Morvillo’s whereabouts is from April 24, 1953, when she was documented as present at her divorce proceeding in Orange County, New York. Court records show that custody of the couple’s three living children was awarded to the father. This court appearance is the final known documentation placing Alice alive and accounted for.

Since that date, no verified records, public documents, or proof of life have been found. No living family members have had contact with Alice since the 1950s, and extensive research has failed to uncover any evidence of her whereabouts after the divorce.

This case remains unresolved. Any information that could help locate Alice Morvillo or clarify what happened to her after April 24, 1953, may be critical in bringing answers to her family and ensuring her disappearance is formally recognized and investigated.  If you have information regarding Alice and/or her whereabouts, please contact Katie Thomas at katie@moxxyforensics.com.

Missing Person:  Melinda Beardsley

Moxxy Forensic Investigations is honored to assist the family of Melinda "Pip" Beardsley, who has been missing since the 1970s.

Melinda was last known to be living in Carson City, Nevada. In 1976, she was arrested for driving under the influence in Reno, Washoe County. A newspaper article about the incident listed her address in Carson City, providing the last confirmed record of her whereabouts.

At the time, Melinda was 30 years old, approximately 5’7” tall, weighed around 170 pounds and had dark brown hair. She had a distinctive crooked left incisor, but it is possible that she may have had her teeth removed and replaced.

Originally from Michigan, Melinda also lived in California and Nevada during her life. She was a mother and described as being very close to her family, remaining in regular contact with them until the mid-1970s. She was known to use the alias names of Melinda Clausen, Melinda Dominque, and Melinda Leblanna.  Heartbreakingly, the DUI arrest record from 1976 is the final proof of life her family has been able to locate.

With her family’s request for help, our team is now working to uncover more about Melinda’s life after the 1970s and to bring long-awaited answers to those who love her.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Melinda Beardsley, contact Katie Thomas at katie@moxxyforensics.com.

Missing Person:  Sherry Lynn (Crossland) Eastman

Moxxy Forensic Investigations has been requested to assist in researching the whereabouts of missing person Sherry Lynn (Crossland) Eastman.

Sherry was born October 4th, 1956, in Illinois to Jimmy Crossland (1920–1992) and Alberta Miles (1934–1966). Sherry attended various schools in California during the early 1970s, before moving to Bexar, Texas, where she married William Scott Stephan Eastman on December 29th, 1979.

Shortly after their marriage, the couple were transferred by the United States Army to Bremerhaven, Germany, where their son was born in 1981. Not long after, the family returned to the United States, and moved to Searcy County, Arkansas. Sherry and William divorced in 1982 or 1983 in Tennessee.

According to a document dated April 5th, 1982, allegedly signed by Sherry, she gave temporary guardianship of her son to Richard & Valeria George.

Sherry’s last known contact was December 20th, 1982, in San Patricio County, Texas, when she sold property she inherited, possibly receiving a large sum of money in exchange.

In 1986, a falsified affidavit was signed and recorded in Marshall, Searcy, Arkansas, stating that there was a son born to Richard and Valeria George in their home. A delayed birth certificate was issued to the couple for their “son,” issuing him a new name and social security number.

The Georges' ostensible son was unaware of his biological mother until he took a consumer DNA test that did not link him to the couple he considered his parents. The siblings he was raised with confirmed that Sherry was his mother and that “she was no more.”

Documentation relating to Sherry’s last known banking receipts, her son’s birth certificate, as well as time spent abroad, amongst other personal information, was found among Richard George’s possessions after his death.

Extensive research has been completed over the last several years, but what became of Sherry remains unknown.

If you have information on the whereabouts of Sherry Lynn (Crossland) Eastman, please email Kaycee Connelly at kaycee@moxxyforensics.com.
